All About Krakow

There is a saying that reading books is a great way to travel and see lots of different places. Whoever said that obviously didn’t get a chance to actually travel and see first hand everything that a particular place has to offer.

If you are still warming up to the idea of traveling as a way to learn more about the world and life in general, the first thing you might ask is where should you head first. That’s the easiest question to answer; where else but, to Krakow, Poland?

Not many people are knowledgeable of what this beautiful city has to offer. First things first, Krakow is a very popular tourist destination so no need for you to be worried whether or not this city welcomes tourists with open arms (over 7 million people come here annually). Next, in order for you to know what to expect when you are actually on Polish soil, here are some useful – or just plain interesting – things to remember.

Krakow is a city located at the Lesser Poland region. By Lesser Poland, that doesn’t imply that it is less superior or there are fewer attractions here than in other regions of Poland. In fact, Krakow is very rich in history and culture that this place has been an inspiration for many artists, authors and so on. Not only that but this city is considered as the cultural capital of Poland. During the year 2000, this city has been given the title of European Capital of Culture. Now how’s that for starters?

Krakow, Poland is a very good place to go to first if you are stepping on Polish soil for the first time. This place is steeped in culture, religion and interesting stuff. You’ll find everything you need to see, only here in Krakow. First, there’s the world famous Wawel Castle and some other sites that are not exactly famous (or infamous), but are really worth visiting. Just don’t forget to exchange your money for zloty’s because if you wander to the quaint stores, they probably won’t take your Euros.

You’ll definitely like this place because not only is it a beautiful city to start with, but because the people are equally beautiful and very interesting. Many people who come to Krakow either stay here for good or return to this place again and again. In this magnificent city, you’ll have your fill of culture, art and good food and wine. There is never a shortage of anything to do, see, know or hear. All your senses will be wide alert when you step into this city. There are lots of foods to taste, wine (and vodka) to drink and people to befriend.
If you are coming here for the first time, you don’t need to worry about not adjusting easily to the culture or so on and so forth. Many people who came here fell in love with this place at first sight. When it’s your turn to come to Krakow, you will surely go back to this place time and time again.
